About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Specialist to join our team at Iron Oak IT Inc. as a key member of our IT infrastructure team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and Administer Network Infrastructure

Responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and administration of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.

Evaluate and Install Network Hardware and Software

Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software to ensure optimal network performance.

Provide Problem-Solving Services

Provide problem-solving services to network users, ensuring prompt and effective resolution of technical issues.

Implement Security Procedures

Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures to protect the network and its users.

Perform Routine Network Maintenance

Perform routine network start-up and close-down procedures, and maintain control records to ensure network efficiency.

Perform Data Backups and Disaster Recovery

Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations to ensure business continuity.

Set Up Local Area Networks and Internet Connections

Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet, ensuring seamless communication and data exchange.

Implement Network Traffic and Security Monitoring

Implement network traffic and security monitoring software to optimize server performance and ensure network security.

Supervise Technical Staff

Supervise technical staff, providing guidance and support to ensure the effective delivery of IT services.

About You

We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Network Support Specialist who possesses excellent technical knowledge and skills, as well as strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Requirements
  • Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

Experience

2 years to less than 3 years of experience in network administration and support.

Computer and Technology Knowledge

Strong knowledge of virtualization, Linux, networking hardware, networking security, servers, security software, SharePoint, database software, and MS Office.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines, and possess excellent attention to detail.

Initiative, organized, and a team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
