About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Network Support Specialist to join our team at Iron Oak IT Inc. as a Network Support Technician.

Key Responsibilities
  • Network Administration: Maintain, troubleshoot, and administer the use of local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), mainframe networks, and computer workstations and peripheral equipment.
  • Hardware and Software Evaluation: Evaluate and install computer hardware, networking software, and operating system software.
  • Problem-Solving: Provide problem-solving services to network users.
  • Security and Compliance: Implement data, software, and hardware security procedures.
  • Network Maintenance: Perform routine network start-up and close-down and maintain control records.
  • Data Backup and Recovery: Perform data backups and disaster recovery operations.
  • Network Setup and Configuration: Set up local area networks and connections to the Internet.
  • Performance Optimization: Implement network traffic and security monitoring software, and optimize server performance.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise technical staff.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years.
  • Work Setting: Help desk, consulting firm.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Virtualization, Linux, networking hardware, networking security, servers, security software, SharePoint, database software, MS Office, MS Windows.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Fast-paced environment, tight deadlines, attention to detail, sitting.
