Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team at CHEP. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for developing and executing capital expenditure projects across North America.

About the Role

  • Assist in developing business cases for project sponsors by conducting thorough cost-benefit analyses and presenting recommendations to stakeholders.
  • Develop project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation, to ensure successful execution within established parameters.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement electrical control systems, robotic, and vision systems that meet industry standards.
  • Manage vendor selection, procurement, and contracting processes to ensure cost-effective solutions while maintaining quality standards.
  • Oversee on-site supervision during equipment installation, start-up, and commissioning to ensure seamless handover to operations teams.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks associated with capital projects to minimize downtime and financial losses.
  • Prepare and present project progress reports, including financial updates and performance metrics, to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams, vendors, and customers to ensure effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory requirements to maintain expertise in electrical engineering and project management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field; postgraduate qualifications desirable.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in project engineering, project management, or a related field; experience working in operations/manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Proven track record of managing complex projects, meeting deadlines, and delivering results under pressure.
  • Strong knowledge of Rockwell and Allen Bradley PLC controls, programming languages (e.g., C++, Python), and CAD software packages (e.g., AutoCAD).
  • Excellent verbal, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in Ontario or other jurisdictions.
  • Experience with financial forecasting, budgeting, and reporting, including financial statement preparation and analysis.

Working Conditions

This is a full-time position, requiring frequent travel (up to 50%) to customer sites, service centers, and corporate offices.

Compensation Package

We offer a competitive salary range of $120,000-$160,000, depending on experience, as well as benefits, bonuses, and professional development opportunities.
