We are seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a Dietitian, you will play a vital role in providing expert nutrition advice and care to patients and clients across our health system.
Responsibilities- Provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients and clients, families, and communities.
- Advise on diet and food and nutrition across all health sectors.
- Lead team efforts to support the nutritional health of patients, clients, and communities through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.
- Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring Dietetic Interns.
- Bachelor of Science in Nutrition/Dietetics.
- 1 year of diabetes-related experience required; applicants with less than one year of experience may be considered.
- 3-5 years of recent related experience in an acute care/community setting.
- Completion of an approved Dietetic internship.
- Licensed with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association.
- Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada.
- Certified Diabetes Educator preferred.
- Experience in Primary Healthcare an asset.
- Experience working in a rural setting with a diverse client population an asset.
- Current successful completion of a BCLS program required or willingness to obtain.
- Long assignment full-time position (approx. 7-month term); 75 hours bi-weekly.
- Shifts include days, evenings, and weekends (or other specific hours of shifts).
- Travel to various sites may be required.
$42.58 hourly.
Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
