Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Dietitian to join our team in providing exceptional care to patients with diabetes and chronic diseases. As a Primary Health Care Dietitian, you will be responsible for advising on diet and nutrition, promoting health, and preventing disease.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide competent, safe, and ethical professional practice to patients, families, and communities.
  • Advise on diet and nutrition across all health sectors.
  • Lead team efforts to support nutritional health through health promotion, disease prevention, treatment, support, and rehabilitation.
  • Participate in the Integrated Dietetic Internship program, including preceptoring Dietetic Interns.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nutrition/Dietetics.
  • 1 year of diabetes-related experience required; applicants with less experience may be considered.
  • 3-5 years of recent experience in an acute care/community setting.
  • Completion of an approved Dietetic internship.
  • Licensed with the Nova Scotia Dietetic Association.
  • Eligible for membership with the Dietitians of Canada.
  • Certified Diabetes Educator preferred.
  • Experience in Primary Healthcare and working in a rural setting with diverse clients an asset.
Working Conditions
  • Long assignment full-time position (approx. 7-month term); 75 hours bi-weekly.
  • Shifts include days, evenings, and weekends (or other specific hours of shifts).
  • Travel to various sites may be required.
Compensation and Incentives

$32.30 - $42.58 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package, including health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
