About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Health Equity Advocate and Program Manager to join our team at CharityVillage. In this role, you will have the opportunity to make a significant impact in advancing health equity and promoting social justice.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading our education, advocacy, and policy change work, as well as overseeing the implementation of our anti-racism and anti-oppression action plan. You will work closely with our leadership team and staff to centre equity and justice in all aspects of our work, including programming, operational practices, systems, and team health and wellness.

Key Responsibilities
  • Strategic Leadership: Work with the leadership team to develop and implement organizational strategic priorities, focusing on advancing health equity and promoting social justice.
  • Advocacy & Community Relations: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including government agencies, community partners, funders, and advocacy groups, to support the advancement of our mission and strategic priorities.
  • Program Management & Communications: Oversee the development and dissemination of communications and educational materials, such as social media posts, website updates, educational resources, and publications, to promote health equity and social justice.
  • Financial & People Operations: Provide support and mentorship to staff, conduct performance evaluations, and oversee budget management to ensure effective program delivery.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the structural, economic, social, and political contexts that affect marginalized communities.
  • Knowledge and application of cultural safety principles, trauma-informed approaches, and an ability to work closely with equity-deserving communities.
  • A strong commitment to advancing justice, equity, accessibility, and inclusion both internally and in program design and delivery.
  • Proven experience developing and implementing successful advocacy campaigns and leading community development efforts that uplift voices of marginalized communities.
  • A strong ability to navigate conversations with diverse audiences, demonstrating tact and empathy.
Salary

$85,000 - $95,000 per year, depending on experience.
