About the Role

WSP is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Regional Director – Project Delivery to lead our efforts in creating a best-in-class Project Delivery capability across Latin America and the Caribbean. This is a unique opportunity to join a global organization and make a significant impact on our business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive Project Delivery strategy for the region, aligned with WSP's global goals and objectives.
  • Lead a team of Project Delivery professionals to ensure the successful delivery of projects across the region.
  • Collaborate with in-country teams to develop and implement a change programme that will drive business growth and improve project delivery capabilities.
  • Develop and manage the adoption of integrated tools and processes that are aligned with WSP's current best practices.
  • Engage regularly with internal clients to ensure they understand the plan, status, next steps, and expected benefits of the programme.
  • Position WSP as the employer of choice for the best Project Delivery professionals in the industry.
  • Onboard, assess, coach, train, and mentor professionals to ensure we leverage the talent in the organization.
  • Reduce margin erosion and manage operational risks to deliver enhanced financial performance.
  • Organize and participate in project reviews to ensure projects follow the Project Delivery Framework.
  • Monitor and analyze project performance and support teams throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Ensure timely, accurate, and complete information on project performance and the status of the Project Delivery Initiative is reported to internal stakeholders.
  • Analyze Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), trends, and gaps across the region to assist with program/process improvements.

Requirements

  • University Degree in Engineering, Planning, or equivalent, with a track record of successfully delivering medium and large, multi-discipline, complex engineering and/or construction projects within a consulting environment.
  • Impeccable knowledge of the latest Project Management approaches. Ideally PMP certified or equivalent.
  • Fluent Spanish and English language skills. Portuguese would be an advantage.
  • The legal right to live and work in Chile, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia, Panama, Peru, or Mexico.
  • Significant experience in delivering major projects in one of our key sectors.
  • Leadership skills to ensure all operations advance together.
  • Experience in affecting organizational change within multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Exceptional written communication skills, including writing standards/policies.
  • Exceptional verbal communication skills – clear, concise, and tactful communication with senior management, clients, peers, and staff.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills – the ability to work well with people from different disciplines with varying degrees of technical experience.
  • Strong strategic, conceptual, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills.
  • Adaptable and flexible, including the ability to manage deadline pressure, ambiguity, and change.
  • Negotiation skills within a context of political sensitivity and managing conflicting interests.

Location

The position can be in any of our offices in Mexico, West Indies, Panama, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, Chile, or Argentina.
