We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Customs Associate I to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with U.S. and Canadian customs regulations, facilitating the movement of cross-border packages, and providing exceptional customer service.
Key Responsibilities- Comply with customs regulations and procedures to ensure accurate and timely clearance of shipments.
- Communicate with consignees, shippers, and brokers to resolve paperwork issues, clear shipments, and close entries.
- Research and resolve issues related to customs holds, tracers, and bonded shipments.
- Verify shipment information for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (USCBP) and manage inbound and outbound calls to resolve issues.
- Perform routine data entry and direct commercial invoices through the Genesis System to brokers as part of the clearance process.
- High school diploma; post-secondary education in International Studies or Certified Customs Specialist designation preferred.
- No experience required, but administrative experience in cross-border transportation and/or customs is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Internet Explorer.
- Good understanding of technical and administrative terms related to U.S. and Canadian government import and export regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail.
- Good customer service skills.
This is a part-time, non-exempt position with a regular schedule of Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, and Saturday from 1:00pm to 6:00pm.
