Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a light duty cleaner to join our team at Northern Cleaners Whitehorse Limited. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for ensuring our facilities are clean, safe, and welcoming for our clients and employees.

  • Sweep, mop, wash and polish floors to maintain a high level of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Dust furniture and other surfaces to create a healthy and comfortable environment.
  • Vacuum carpeting, area rugs, draperies and upholstered furniture to remove dirt, dust, and debris.
  • Make beds and change sheets in guest rooms and other areas as needed.
  • Distribute clean towels and toiletries to guests and staff.
  • Stock linen closets and restock supplies as necessary.
  • Clean, disinfect and polish kitchen and bathroom fixtures and appliances to maintain hygiene and prevent the spread of germs.
  • Clean and disinfect elevators to ensure a clean and safe environment for users.
  • Handle and report lost and found items to customers and colleagues.
  • Provide basic information on facilities, such as amenities and services available.
  • Pick up debris and empty trash containers to maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Wash windows, walls and ceilings to keep our facilities looking their best.
  • Clean changing rooms and showers to provide a comfortable and hygienic space for staff and customers.
Work Environment and Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience working in a fast-paced environment, handling heavy loads and physically demanding tasks. They must be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Must be physically fit and able to lift, carry, push or pull objects weighing up to 25 pounds (11 kg) regularly.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and walk long distances.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
