Pharmacy Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Halton Healthcare. The successful candidate will be responsible for technical tasks within the automated unit dose drug distribution system, including restocking of Omnicell automated dispensing units, dispensing and compounding of patient specific prescriptions, distribution and control of narcotic and controlled drugs, and other inventory management tasks.
Key Responsibilities- Operate select Pharmacy Automation systems
- Prepackaging of unit doses and preparation of sterile pharmaceutical products
- Restocking of Omnicell automated dispensing units
- Dispensing and compounding of patient specific prescriptions
- Distribution and control of narcotic and controlled drugs
- Completion of a recognized college level Pharmacy Assistant or Technician Program
- Registered as a Pharmacy Technician with the Ontario College of Pharmacists
- Previous hospital experience with unit dose and/or automated drug distribution system and intravenous admixture service
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to participate in a team environment
The successful candidate will be required to work in a fast-paced environment and must be able to meet the physical demands of the position.
