Physical Education Teacher Opportunity

Branksome Hall, a leading IB World School for girls in Toronto, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Physical Education teacher to join our Junior School team. As a Physical Education teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds and bodies of our students, fostering a love for physical activity, and promoting social-emotional learning.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Physical Education units of study to students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6, incorporating social-emotional learning and inquiry-based approaches.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that integrate physical education with the IB PYP curriculum, ensuring a holistic learning experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver physical education programs, including athletics and intramurals.
  • Coach a sport for the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons, promoting teamwork and sportsmanship.
  • Organize and run physical education events, such as Track and Field Day, to engage students and promote physical activity.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Education or a related field.
  • Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Junior/Primary division qualifications.
  • Three years' equivalent experience in teaching Physical Education, preferably in an IB World School.
  • Current Lifesaving Society Swim and Lifesaving Instructor certificate, preferred.
  • Experience coaching sports at a Primary and Junior level, with a strong understanding of IB principles.
