Physical Education Teacher Opportunity

Branksome Hall, a leading IB World School for girls in Toronto, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Physical Education teacher to join our Junior School team. As a Physical Education teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the minds and bodies of our students, fostering a love for physical activity, and promoting social-emotional learning.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Physical Education units of study to students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6, incorporating social-emotional learning and inquiry-based approaches.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans that integrate physical education with the IB PYP curriculum, ensuring a holistic learning experience.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan, review, and update the written curriculum, ensuring alignment with school goals and IB standards.
  • Coach a sport for the Fall, Winter, and Spring seasons, promoting athletics and physical activity within the school.
  • Organize and run the Junior School intramurals program, providing opportunities for students to engage in physical activity and teamwork.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited institution and additional qualifications in Physical Education.
  • Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Junior/Primary division qualifications.
  • Three years' equivalent experience, preferred.
  • Current Lifesaving Society Swim and Lifesaving Instructor certificate, preferred.
  • Experience coaching sports at a Primary and Junior level.
  • Experience in and knowledge of IB is a strong asset.
