Physical Education Teacher Opportunity

Branksome Hall, a leading IB World School for girls in Toronto, is seeking a dynamic and experienced Physical Education teacher to join our Junior School team. As a Physical Education teacher, you will play a vital role in shaping the physical and emotional well-being of our students, while fostering a love for physical activity and healthy lifestyles.

Responsibilities
  • Teach Physical Education units of study to students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6, incorporating social-emotional learning and inquiry-based approaches.
  • Develop and implement physical education programs that promote athleticism, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and deliver physical education units that integrate with the IB PYP curriculum.
  • Communicate student progress to parents and colleagues through regular reports and meetings.
  • Participate in coaching sports teams and organizing physical education events.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Physical Education or a related field.
  • Ontario College of Teachers certification or equivalent degree with Junior/Primary division qualifications.
  • Three years' equivalent experience in teaching Physical Education, preferably in an IB World School.
  • Current Lifesaving Society Swim and Lifesaving Instructor certificate, preferred.
  • Experience coaching sports at a Primary and Junior level.
  • Knowledge of relevant technology and ability to work in a laptop environment.
