Job Title: Framer-Carpenter

Empire Framing Inc. is seeking a skilled Framer-Carpenter to join our team. As a key member of our construction crew, you will be responsible for building and installing structures, fixtures, and equipment made of wood, wood substitutes, and other materials.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare estimates of labor and/or material costs
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Prepare layouts in conformance to building codes, using measuring tools
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials
  • Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, moldings, and hardware
  • Supervise other workers
  • Estimate costs and materials
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures
Requirements:
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Asset languages: Hindi, Panjabi; Punjabi
  • Work site environment: Noisy, Dusty, Outdoors
  • Work setting: Construction, Various locations, Renovation
  • Tasks: Physically demanding, Large workload, Combination of sitting, standing, walking
