We are seeking a skilled and experienced Framing Carpenter to join our team at Empire Framing Inc. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for ensuring that all framing work is completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare Estimates: Develop detailed estimates of labor and material costs for framing projects.
  • Read and Interpret Plans: Carefully read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements and ensure compliance with building codes.
  • Prepare Layouts: Create accurate layouts using measuring tools to ensure that framing work is completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Measure, Cut, and Assemble Materials: Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials to construct framing components.
  • Build Foundations and Install Roof Systems: Build foundations, install floor beams, lay subflooring, and erect walls and roof systems to ensure a solid and secure structure.
  • Install Windows, Doors, and Hardware: Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware to complete the framing work.
  • Supervise and Train: Supervise and train other workers to ensure that they have the necessary skills and knowledge to complete framing tasks safely and effectively.
  • Maintain and Repair Structures: Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in various settings, including mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in framing and construction.
  • Language: English.
  • Work Environment: Noisy, dusty, and outdoors.
  • Work Setting: Construction, various locations, and renovation.
  • Physical Capabilities: Bending, crouching, kneeling, combination of sitting, standing, walking, large workload, and physically demanding.
