Project Manager, Solar Independent Engineering

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager to join our Solar Independent Engineering team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing solar + storage projects throughout North America, working with major customer accounts, and performing project due diligence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Initiate and coordinate technical review processes among internal specialists, synthesizing and writing due diligence reports
  • Perform overall project management activities, ensuring excellent customer communication as the key point of contact for due diligence engagements
  • Perform portions of due diligence reviews, including contract and financial model reviews, and synthesis of inputs from technical disciplines
  • Discuss and resolve technical issues with project developers, lenders, and investors, coordinating input from internal technical specialists
  • Develop and win proposals for scopes of services related to due diligence work
  • Coordinate or perform DNV construction monitoring and site visit activities
  • Support customers through financial closings of projects
  • Participate in continuous improvement efforts, including leading tool development, process refinement, and digitization efforts

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering, science, business, energy, or related field
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the solar industry
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to balance multiple projects under tight deadlines
  • Fluent in MS Office
  • Solution-oriented thinking skills and high integrity
  • Basic understanding of energy industry technology and the solar project financing process
  • Supportive and proactive team member, eager to work in a collaborative environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree
  • Experience in solar industry construction and operating contracts, solar project construction, operations/asset management, or independent engineering
  • Exposure to contracts, budgets, and financial models
  • Working knowledge of PVsyst and solar energy assessment
  • Working knowledge of relevant National Electric Code sections
