About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and safety-focused individual to join our winter maintenance team as a Winter Patroller. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing road maintenance activities on provincial highways, responding to emergency situations, and assisting in implementing an emergency plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform road maintenance activities on provincial highways
  • Respond to emergency situations such as spills and accidents during inclement weather
  • Assist in implementing an emergency plan and provide traffic control at accident scenes
  • Maintain accurate documentation, including fuel reports, safety reports, and hours of service
  • Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on equipment
  • Make snow and ice control decisions during winter and initiate equipment and operator call outs
Requirements
  • G licence and clean driving abstract
  • Experience in snow and ice control along with knowledge of OTM Book 7
  • Knowledge of highway maintenance
  • Willingness to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to work assigned shifts, and extended hours (evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays) as winter events require
  • Ability to perform manual labour and lift up to 50 lbs and stand for periods of time
