About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Baker to join our team at Stofa Restaurant. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, and desserts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and Baking: Prepare dough for pies, bread, rolls, and sweet goods, batters for muffins, cookies, and cakes, and icings and frostings according to recipes or special customer orders.
  • Inventory Management: Requisition or order materials, equipment, and supplies as needed.
  • Quality Control: Ensure that the quality of products meets established standards by inspecting kitchen and food service areas.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Maintain equipment and machinery in good working order.
  • Customer Service: Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances and provide excellent customer service.
Requirements
  • Education: College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Work Setting: Restaurant environment with fast-paced and physically demanding conditions.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to distinguish between colors, attention to detail, hand-eye coordination, and standing for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Accurate, client-focused, dependable, excellent oral communication, and team player.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a bakery or related field.
  • Language: English language proficiency.
  • Availability: Availability for shift or on-call work.
