Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Graphic Arts Technician to join our team at John Abbott College. As a key member of our Communications department, you will be responsible for creating visually compelling graphics that reflect our unique college brand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop high-quality visual content for various platforms, including print, digital, and social media.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to brainstorm and strategize on a wide range of projects, from signage and presentations to marketing collateral and internal communications.
  • Translate strategic direction into effective design solutions that align with our college brand identity.
  • Develop concepts and execute original content, determining the ideal use of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
  • Liaise with internal clients and external suppliers to ensure quality control and timely delivery of projects.
  • Maintain graphic artwork in a centralized system and encourage users to respect our branding guidelines.
Requirements
  • Diploma of Collegial Studies (DEC) in Graphic Design or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in graphic design, preferably in the printing domain or related field.
  • Portfolio showcasing a diverse range of design projects.
  • Mastery of Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Acrobat.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and comfortable working in a Mac environment.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with excellent critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and French.
