Hospitalist Physician

Valley Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled physician to join their hospitalist team. As a hospitalist, you will be responsible for managing a panel of patients, providing care and coordination of community-based care, and operating within the bylaws and rules of the Nova Scotia Health Authority.
The hospitalist team is comprised of family medicine physicians with an interest in inpatient care and internists. The program currently consists of five hospitalist lines covering 7-15 acute patients. The standard work week is 7 days on and 7 days off, but alternative scheduling options are available.
Responsibilities- Manage a panel of hospitalist patients
- Provide care and coordination of community-based care
- Operate within the bylaws and rules of the Nova Scotia Health Authority
- Participate in quality improvement and evaluation activities
- The standard work week is 7 days on, 7 days off
- Full line and half line available
- Remuneration is a daily rate of $CAD 0.25 for a full line with a call rate of $CAD 0.00 per night on weekends or $CAD 0.00 per night on a weekday
- Sessional rates for callback services are available
- Eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia
- Eligibility for certification with the College of Family Physicians of Canada
- Membership with the Canadian Medical Protective Association
