Structural Design Engineer

At Entuitive, we're seeking an experienced Structural Design Engineer to join our dynamic team. As a key member of our engineering team, you'll be responsible for the design and detailing of structural elements, including design and calculations, computer modeling, and analysis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execution of structural projects and act as Engineer of Record within the realm of existing buildings from conceptual design to final completion
  • Perform site assessments and prepare evaluation reports
  • Perform designs and prepare contract drawings and specifications
  • Review work in field and provide reports
  • Write and administer construction contracts

New Build Projects:

  • Responsible for designing and detailing of structural elements, including design and calculations, computer modeling, and analysis
  • Works to assemble and coordinate engineering drawings and contract documents in collaboration with our BIM technologists and other members of the engineering team
  • Conduct field reviews and other contract administrative duties
  • Drafts project-related correspondence as needed
  • Participates in client meetings facilitating solutions to design issues and challenges and providing status updates
  • Conducts review of the architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings

Other Responsibilities:

  • Project management responsibilities
  • Mentors junior staff with design and delivery elements of a project to ensure standards are upheld
  • Effectively uses QA tools and completes checklists and submits them to the project engineer as required
  • Such other duties and responsibilities as Entuitive may assign to you from time to time

Requirements:

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in civil/structural engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the AEC industry
  • P.Eng. registered in Alberta
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
  • Strong background in the field of existing buildings including current and leading-edge knowledge of materials and processes
  • Experience with structural restoration projects considered an asset
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget
  • Having experience in or exposure to multiple building materials (wood, structural steel, masonry, concrete, and mass timber) in terms of design, evaluation, and/or remediation is considered an asset
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle and maintain throughout employment
