Opportunity Overview

We are seeking a skilled Intermediate Structural Engineer to join our team at Entuitive. This role involves the execution of structural projects and acting as Engineer of Record for existing buildings from conceptual design to final completion.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform site assessments and prepare evaluation reports
  • Design and prepare contract drawings and specifications
  • Review work in the field and provide reports
  • Write and administer construction contracts

New Build Projects

  • Responsible for designing and detailing structural elements, including design and calculations, computer modeling, and analysis
  • Collaborate with BIM technologists and other engineers to assemble and coordinate engineering drawings and contract documents
  • Conduct field reviews and other contract administrative duties
  • Draft project-related correspondence as needed
  • Participate in client meetings to facilitate solutions to design issues and challenges and provide status updates
  • Review architectural, electrical, mechanical, and structural drawings

Additional Responsibilities

  • Project management responsibilities
  • Mentor junior staff on design and delivery elements of a project to ensure standards are upheld
  • Effectively use QA tools and complete checklists and submit them to the project engineer as required
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Entuitive

Requirements

  • Minimum Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in the AEC industry
  • P.Eng. registered in Alberta
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Strong background in existing buildings, including current and leading-edge knowledge of materials and processes
  • Experience with structural restoration projects is considered an asset
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage scope, schedule, and budget
  • Experience with multiple building materials (wood, structural steel, masonry, concrete, and mass timber) in terms of design, evaluation, and/or remediation is considered an asset
  • Must have a valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle and maintain throughout employment
