Job Summary: As a Financial Accountant, you will assist with the management of our rapid growth, performing operational accounting and financial reporting tasks. This role is ideal for a motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare external reporting packages, including quarterly and annual financial statements, and management discussion and analysis.
  • Assist in preparing the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) annual report, researching climate standards, and related calculations.
  • Collaborate on ad-hoc projects to automate and streamline processes, improving reporting timelines and efficiency.
  • Prepare and review general ledger entries, monthly and quarterly reconciliations, investigating variances, and analyzing results.
  • Develop corporate accounting reports, analysis, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Liaise with external auditors, managing quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Prepare technical accounting memorandums on complex topics.
  • Maintain internal control processes related to assigned areas for financial books and records.

Requirements:

  • A post-secondary degree in Commerce, Accounting, or Business Administration; preference given to candidates with a CPA designation or enrolled in the program.
  • Minimum 2+ years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a public mid-sized manufacturing/technology environment.
  • Ability to adapt to a dynamic work environment, with excellent organizational skills and priority management.
  • Positive attitude, enthusiasm, and a focus on providing useful information for business decision-making.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze business results, identify key issues, and summarize findings.
