Job Summary

1823 Consulting Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Water Treatment Plant Process Technician to join our team. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and safe operation of our water treatment plant.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain disinfection, oxidation, and pumping systems
  • Read blueprints to determine work requirements and take physico-chemical measurements on water and sludge
  • Analyze test results and instrument readings, and collect and test water samples for chemical and bacterial content
  • Complete and maintain plant logs and reports, and help with the installation, assembly, and repairs to equipment
  • Monitor and inspect plant equipment and systems to detect equipment malfunctioning and ensure plant systems are operating normally
  • Operate and monitor computerized control systems and related equipment to regulate the treatment and distribution of water
  • Patrol plant to check pumps, motors, filters, chlorinators, and other plant equipment, and respond to customer complaints on water quality problems
  • Transport and mix chemicals, and operate equipment used to unload chemicals
Requirements
  • 5 years or more of experience in the field
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Attention to detail, combination of sitting, standing, walking, handling heavy loads, overtime required, and repetitive tasks
  • Ability to work in confined spaces, hot environments, and outdoors, and to wear ear plugs, gloves, hard hat, mask, safety equipment/gear, and steel-toed safety boots
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, flexibility, judgement, and reliability
