Job Title: Biological Research Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Biological Research Scientist to join our team at UHN. As a key member of our research team, you will be responsible for conducting research in the field of biological sciences, with a focus on vision science/physiological optics.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct research in the field of biological sciences, with a focus on vision science/physiological optics.
  • Supervise laboratory technical personnel, medical clinical personnel, graduate students, research scientists, and other professionals.
  • Supervise biological technologists and technicians and other scientists.
  • Produce reports.
  • Recruit and hire staff.
  • Prepare research papers, educational texts, or articles.
  • Conduct interviews.
  • Deliver presentations at conferences, workshops, or symposia.
  • Offer mentoring.
  • Present materials at conferences or symposia.
  • Prepare funding and grant applications and proposals.
  • Prepare funding applications.
  • Locate funding for the project.
Requirements:
  • Doctorate degree in a relevant field.
  • 5 years or more of experience in research and development.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
