We are seeking individuals who reflect the students and families we serve, to join our team as a Mental Health Therapist. This role will support schools in navigating pathways to, through, and from tertiary care or services.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will provide intensive short-term services for students with complex mental health issues, offer individual and/or group counselling sessions, and support schools and families to access community-based resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with schools to determine the most appropriate mental health programming for students with mental health needs.
  • Take a lead role in the development of treatment programs for students transitioning out of tertiary care services.
  • Assist schools in navigating tertiary care services for students.
  • Support school staff in accommodating school environments to support students and their treatment needs.
  • Support families experiencing mental health issues by attending appointments, liaising with service providers, and providing information and recommendations.
  • Provide crisis counselling to staff and students when crisis incidents affect the health, safety, and well-being of the school community.
  • Design and deliver student-focused professional learning sessions for schools.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in a related program.
  • Minimum of three years related experience, including knowledge and experience with students who have complex mental health issues.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills.
Compensation

$3,152.10 - $4,027.80 bi-weekly.

Job Type

Full-time, Fixed-term contract.

Contract length: 10 months.

Pay: $1,576.05-$2,013.90 per week.
