We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Maintenance Worker, Class II to join our team at the Commission scolaire Central Québec / Central Québec School Board. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cleanliness and good condition of our educational institutions and buildings.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, repairs, and replacements of equipment and fixtures.
- Inspect and check lighting, heating, and ventilation systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
- Conduct minor or temporary repairs, and ensure that failures are reported and addressed in a timely manner.
- Keep track of work performed by skilled or unskilled workers, and ensure that all tasks are completed to a high standard.
- Repair doors, windows, and furniture, and assemble and install equipment as needed.
- Ensure adequate security against theft or fire, and monitor the comings and goings of visitors, students, and staff as required.
- Prepare facilities and rooms for use, and order or purchase materials, products, and equipment required for maintenance work.
- Make suggestions and recommendations on products, materials, equipment, and working methods to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Three (3) years of pertinent experience in a maintenance or facilities management role.
- General knowledge of the operation of heating, ventilation, lighting, and alarm systems.
- Basic knowledge of the main building trades.
- Basic knowledge of spoken English.
The successful candidate will work in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on providing excellent customer service to students, staff, and visitors. The role will require the ability to work independently and as part of a team, and to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.
