The Prairie Mountain Health region is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Environmental Services Aide to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional patient care and ensuring the highest standards of cleanliness in our facilities.
About the RoleThis role requires strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. You will be responsible for performing a variety of tasks related to laundry and housekeeping services, including cleaning assigned areas, prioritizing duties, and maintaining equipment.
As an Environmental Services Aide, you will be working closely with the Environmental Services Supervisor and Manager to ensure that all aspects of the department are running smoothly. This includes assisting with training and orientation of new staff members, maintaining high standards of cleanliness, and adhering to established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities- Assist in the training and/or orientation of Environmental Services staff and students.
- Ensure all areas are cleaned according to established schedules and infection control guidelines.
- Prioritize and complete extra cleaning duties within established timeframes.
- Conduct daily tours of areas of responsibility to inspect for cleanliness.
- Ensure all equipment is clean and operating efficiently.
- Perform duties of washing, mopping, waxing, vacuuming, polishing, and dusting using appropriate equipment and products.
- Clean bed frames and mattresses as scheduled and required.
- Collect waste and wash waste receptacles.
- Clean and maintain housekeeping carts, including restocking.
- Perform duties of collecting, sorting, washing, drying, folding, and transporting linen and clothing.
- Clean and process laundry and linen in accordance with established standards, procedures, and infection control guidelines.
- Maintain inventory levels and assist with quality control audits.
- Grade 10 education (MB Standards) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated dexterity and efficient work methods.
- Province of Manitoba Class 5 Driver's Licence or equivalent.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to work independently.
- Demonstrated problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to respect and promote confidentiality.
- Ability to perform duties on a regular basis.
This role will require working in a fast-paced environment with frequent lifting, bending, and standing. The successful candidate must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in a physically demanding environment.
SalaryThe salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include health insurance, pension plan, and paid time off.
