Job Title: Halfway House Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Halfway House Worker to join our team at Native Counselling Services of Alberta. As a key member of our community support team, you will play a vital role in providing guidance and support to individuals in our halfway house program.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for residents, facilitating their transition back into the community, and promoting their overall well-being. This is a permanent, full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to residents, helping them to set and achieve personal goals.
  • Facilitate group sessions and activities to promote socialization, education, and skill-building.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community resources and service providers to ensure residents receive comprehensive support.
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure a cohesive and effective support system.
  • Document resident progress and provide regular updates to supervisors and other stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • College diploma or equivalent in a related field (e.g., social work, counseling, psychology).
  • 1-2 years of experience working in a community support or counseling role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
