Supply Chain Operations Specialist

The Supply Chain Analyst role at Seaspan is a key position responsible for documenting business processes, facilitating stakeholder workshops, and generating process and procedure manuals and user learning guides. This role also involves performing organizational change readiness assessments and making recommendations to Management for specific areas of improvement.
This position requires a subject matter expert in Seaspan's business intelligence application, data modelling, data analysis, and data reporting to support supply chain KPI requirements. The successful candidate will be a Super User for the organization's Procure-To-Pay process and system, including requisitioning, Purchase Order Creation, and Payment Processing.
The Supply Chain Management's activities within the Material Requirement Planning process and system will also be managed by the successful candidate. Additionally, they will support Warehouse and Logistics teams for their analytics and process change requests.
The ideal candidate will identify and work with Supply Chain leaders to deliver best practice procurement solutions. They will develop KPIs and drive the improvement of KPI metrics for business processes, making necessary changes to the application of KPI reporting to enhance business processes efficiency.
Collaboration with end-users and Business Intelligence reporting team (including SharePoint Integration) is essential to define data warehouse requirements and specifications to support organizational supply chain needs. The successful candidate will also administer, maintain, and support existing supply chain reporting solutions.
Leadership and/or participation in cross-functional teams to identify and deliver process improvement initiatives that result in increases in efficiency is a key responsibility of this role. The candidate will document process maps, process and procedure manual(s), and user learning guides.
Participation in the continued expansion of ERP/MRP Systems in the Purchasing and Inventory Modules is also required. The successful candidate will support the integration and change management/training of Supply Chain Management processes across Seaspan and extended business partners (suppliers, customers, finance, operations, legal, risk, etc.).
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in a related field (Business/Operations Management) and/or equivalent combination of education and demonstrated experience. A minimum of 5 years of work experience in a Supply Chain Management role is required, including a minimum of 3 years supporting MRP system in a Supply Chain role and a minimum of 2 years' experience in data warehousing, data integration, data mining, and data reports writing (Power BI, SAP Business Objects BI, etc.).
Membership in PMI, ISM, PMAC, or APICS is preferred, and enrolment and/or completion of PMP, CPM, CPP, CPIM, CSCP, PLOG is desirable. The successful candidate will have the ability to work with data from large and integrated Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and support Material Requirements Planning (MRP) solution.
Solid grasp of data quality best practices and data integration concepts and techniques is essential. Knowledge of quantitative methods and statistical process control/analysis programs, such as Six Sigma and Quality Assurance, is also required. Knowledge of best practices in supply chain management, materials/procurement management, warehouse and logistics management, and change management is necessary.
The ideal candidate will have knowledge of analytical techniques and financial concepts to define and solve complex business problems. Excellent oral and written communication skills and effective listening skills are essential. Strong attention to detail and proficiency in MS-Office (Excel/Words/Outlook/PowerPoint/Visio) as well as SharePoint and Power BI are required.
Adaptability and flexibility to change/improvements and ability to work well under pressure, problem solve, and multi-task are essential. Customer service orientation, self-starter, and initiative are also required.
This is a full-time, permanent position with Seaspan, offering a competitive salary, annual bonus, and pension plan matching. The estimated salary for this position is $81,000 - $99,000, and the final base salary offer will be at the Company's sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
