Senior Mechanical Project Engineer Position

At EVRAZ North America, we are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team. As the Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will utilize your expertise in machinery, fabrication, welding, hydraulics, machining, and piping to perform project management, design, and technical support functions in a timely, accurate, and cost-effective manner.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting services to maintenance and operations departments.
- Recommend and manage capital projects.
- Remain current with EVRAZ business, including an appropriate level of understanding of product manufacturing processes and applied technologies.
- Write project proposals, including business rules, process description, business controls, opportunities, costs, and benefits.
- Write requirement specifications, high-level design, and architecture specifications for projects and plant processes.
Requirements:
Successful candidates for the Senior Mechanical Engineer role are creative problem solvers with a high degree of analytical skills and the ability to implement solutions. The Senior Mechanical Engineer will have strong interpersonal skills and an ability to deal with opposing opinions.
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with electrical experience, preferred.
- Minimum 10 years of experience managing projects involving equipment, buildings, machinery, process piping, cooling systems, combustion systems, pneumatics, power distribution, PLCs, drives, and other systems in a heavy manufacturing environment; steel experience, strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in bringing large projects to completion by creating collaboration between operating processes, project objectives, and unifying efforts of management, maintenance, and project team.
- Electrical experience with knowledge of machinery, fabrication, welding, hydraulics, machining, and piping.
- Experience with troubleshooting complex manufacturing processes, mechanical systems and processes, and automation and control systems.
- Mechanical and project management experience and combustion systems experience, preferred. Computer literate with experience in spreadsheets, word processing, Autocad, and project management software.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to write technical documents, specifications, contracts, and presentations.
