Lead Mechanical Engineer

Brandt Developments Ltd. is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to lead our design and engineering team in Regina, Saskatchewan. This position is responsible for overseeing the design and approval of Mechanical Engineering works, preparing reports, estimates, and contracts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and approval of Mechanical Engineering works associated with the construction of new buildings and renovations projects.
- Design and detail Mechanical elements for all projects, including plans, technical details, and specifications.
- Coordinate with sub-consultants and ensure project success.
- Prepare cost estimates, tender contract documents, and Engineering reports.
- Investigate field and design problems and prepare reports.
- Review, evaluate, and improve upon Engineering designs, drafting, schematics, and specifications.
- Perform heating & cooling load calculations as required.
- Prepare Revit/AutoCAD drawings for Mechanical systems including layouts, schematics, and construction details.
- Liaise with Clients, Authorities, and Contractors.
- Complete site inspections during construction phase, coordinate and follow-up on project issues.
- Perform contract administration (CA) duties on the projects including attending meetings, travel as required, submittal reviews, supplemental instructions, price requests, site inspection reports, meeting minutes and all other aspects of the projects.
- Collaborate with other internal design departments to ensure project success.
- Project cost monitoring and schedule control as requested.
- Knowledge of National Building Code of Canada (NBCC), Plumbing Code, Gas Code, NFPA, and industry practice & regulations/applicable Codes having jurisdiction.
- Knowledge of Energy Code requirements, and building Energy Modelling software for submission.
- Proficiency with Revit & AutoCAD software is required.
Required Skills:
- Must have experience with AutoDesk Revit and AutoCAD software.
- 8+ years experience in a Consulting Office preferred.
- Must have Mechanical or Industrial System Engineering degree.
- Must be licensed to practice as a Professional Engineer in Saskatchewan.
- Candidates will be required to work on multiple projects and collaborate with a team of Architects, Engineers and Technologists.
- Good written & verbal communication skills, attention to detail, enthusiasm and driven to succeed in a positive environment.
