Clinical Resource Nurse, Community Programs Specialist

Fraser Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Resource Nurse to join our team in Community Programs. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide clinical expertise, leadership, and education to staff and clients in the designated clinical area.

Responsibilities- Provide clinical expertise and consultation to staff and clients in the designated clinical area, ensuring compliance with standards of practice and promoting excellence in quality client care.
- Develop and implement education and training programs for staff, promoting the teaching of client self-care, illness prevention, health maintenance, and health promotion strategies.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate educational plans and maximize existing resources to address staff learning needs.
- Participate in quality improvement and risk management activities, evaluating practice and generating recommendations for alternative approaches.
- Develop and revise delegation of task procedures, providing leadership and consultation to staff in implementing and evaluating delegation of task functions.
- Develop, implement, evaluate, and revise education, orientation, and professional development programs for staff, conducting learning need assessments and determining educational requirements.
- Identify available resources to assist in the management and/or coordination of complex client/family health issues and make recommendations for alternative approaches and/or solutions.
- Develop and/or modify current course curriculum for use in teaching and facilitating groups in the designated clinical area to meet revised clinical educational needs and evidence-based best practices.
- Participate in research and special projects, collaborating with members of the interdisciplinary team and promoting staff awareness and involvement in research activities.
- Set measurable performance goals and objectives, maintaining and updating own knowledge of clinical expertise within the area of practice.
- Participate on designated professional committees, attending meetings, providing input, and facilitating the resolution of issues.
- Contribute as a team member to the selection of new staff and in the performance evaluation of staff, attending panel interviews and making recommendations.
Education and Experience
Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse and/or Registered Psychiatric Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Three (3) years' recent related clinical experience in the designated clinical area, including one (1) year experience in an educational/leadership role, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Valid BC Driver's license and access to a personal vehicle for business-related purposes.

- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of Home Support policies within the program management structure of Home Health.
- Demonstrated knowledge of principles of adult learning and critical thinking skills.
- Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of nursing theory and evidence-based practice.
- Demonstrated ability to develop, implement, and revise education/training and orientation programs.
- Demonstrated ability to provide leadership using modeling, coaching, and mentoring roles.
- Demonstrated ability to instruct others and facilitate learning of staff and/or clients/families.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with clients, co-workers, families, and other service providers.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team.
- Ability to develop and maintain rapport with staff, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to resolve problems and effectively manage conflict situations.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work within a continuously changing environment.
- Ability to operate related equipment, including related software applications.
- Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
