About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Community Support Specialist to join our team at Pacific Coast Community Resources. As a Community Support Specialist, you will play a vital role in providing care and support to individuals living in staffed homes within their community.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Advocacy and Support: Ensure the rights and choices of the individuals we support are respected and advocate as needed.
  2. Relationship Building: Interact effectively with individuals we support, foster positive relationships with family members, professionals, co-workers, and community members.
  3. Personalized Support: Empower individuals to be full citizens of their community, participate in the development, implementation, and documentation of Personal Service Plans.
  4. Health and Safety: Assist with activities of daily living, medication administration, and record daily activity and personal health information on our case management database.
  5. Home Maintenance: Work with individuals to ensure their home is clean and well-maintained, including daily food preparation and light housekeeping duties.
Requirements
  1. Education: Grade 12 education and a Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent.
  2. Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in community social services/health care.
  3. Certifications: Current Emergency First Aid/CPR and Food Safe certificates, previous behaviour management course/training.
  4. Skills: Excellent communication skills, non-verbal communication skills, and moderate computer literacy.
  5. Eligibility: Eligibility to work in Canada.
