Job Summary

The Communications and Content Officer, Internal is a key role within North Island College, responsible for creating and implementing effective internal and external communications strategies. This position requires a skilled writer, editor, and communicator who can craft compelling stories and messages that engage various audiences.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement internal and external communications plans to support NIC's strategic initiatives and brand identity.
  • Write and edit a wide range of content, including news articles, social media posts, website content, and publications.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across the college to ensure consistent messaging and branding.
  • Manage and maintain the college's website, social media channels, and other digital platforms.
  • Develop and implement media relations strategies to secure media coverage and promote NIC's programs and services.
  • Provide media training and support to NIC staff and faculty.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in communications and public affairs.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or a related field.
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing effective communications strategies.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and Adobe Creative Cloud.
