Training and Development Specialist

Job SummaryThe successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating the first day meet-and-greet and orientation of new building site staff, including WHMIS and safe lifting techniques training. This will involve providing new staff with their orientation package, checklists, SOP manual and Health and Safety Training. Additionally, the candidate will work with new staff on a pre-scheduled basis, train staff in minor plumbing and electrical work, general maintenance and housekeeping duties, and participate in the branch Joint Health and Safety Committee and perform annual building inspections.

- Participating in the branch Joint Health and Safety Committee and performing annual building inspections.
- A valid driver's license and ownership of a reliable vehicle.
- Previous experience working as on-site apartment building staff is a strong asset.
- Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal.
- Creativity and ability to work under pressure.
- Passion and enthusiasm regarding the development of others.
- Knowledge in the day-to-day functions of an apartment building, including boilers, elevators, compactor rooms, and swimming pools.
- A minimum of two years' training experience is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience in training methods and principles.
