Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Patient Care Assistant to join our team at Brightshores. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting a safe and supportive environment for our patients.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with routine activities of patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding, as per the agreed-upon plan of care.
- Perform cross-functional duties, such as answering phones, taking messages, and maintaining patient records.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, including RNs and RPNs, to ensure seamless patient care.
- Participate in ongoing education and training to enhance your skills and knowledge.
- Contribute to a positive and respectful work environment, adhering to Brightshores' CARE Behaviours and LEAD Competencies.
Requirements
- Certificate of Completion of the Personal Support Worker Program from a recognized Community College or equivalent experience and education.
- Current CPR certification.
- Recent experience working in a healthcare facility.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Working knowledge of Infection Control Practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.
- Excellent organizational and patient assessment skills.
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development.
- Ability to work all shifts.
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record.
