Patient Care Specialist

Job Summary:Under the guidance of an RN and RPN, the Patient Care Assistant will assist with routine activities of patient care within the agreed upon plan of care. The successful candidate will promote an environment that is optimal for the physical, social, and emotional well-being of our patients.
Responsibilities:- Assist with routine activities of patient care, including bathing, dressing, and feeding.
- Provide emotional support and companionship to patients.
- Assist with mobility and transfers, as needed.
- Participate in the development and implementation of patient care plans.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment for patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Certificate of Completion of the Personal Support Worker Program from a recognized Community College or a combination of relevant experience and education preferably from an acute care facility.
- Current CPR
- Recent experience as a in a healthcare facility
- Successful completion of corporate Code White training (to be provided)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Working knowledge of Infection Control Practices
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team
- Excellent organizational and patient assessment skills
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to continuing education and professional development
- Ability to work all shifts
- Recent satisfactory performance and attendance record
