About the Role

Tecni-Metric Inc., arpenteurs-géomètres is seeking a highly skilled Geomatics Technician to join our team. As a Geomatics Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our surveying and mapping activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate Survey Instruments and Devices: You will be responsible for operating survey instruments and devices, including GPS and other navigation equipment, to collect data and conduct field surveys.
  • Keep Survey Information in Systematic Order: You will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of survey information, including measurements and other relevant data.
  • Assist in Calculation, Analysis, and Computation: You will assist in the calculation, analysis, and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys, including trigonometric and other calculations.
  • Prepare Detailed Drawings and Plans: You will prepare detailed drawings, charts, and plans, as well as survey notes and reports, to support our surveying and mapping activities.
  • Conduct Field Surveys: You will conduct field surveys, operating survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations, and contours.
  • Determine Precise Geographic Locations: You will use global positioning systems (GPS) equipment to determine precise geographic locations.
  • Supervise and Coordinate Field Survey Activities: You will supervise and coordinate field survey activities, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
  • Education: You must have a college, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Experience: You must have 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in this field of employment.
  • Language: You must be fluent in French.
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: You must have experience with GPS and other navigation equipment, as well as MicroStation.
  • Survey Specialization: You must have experience in topographic survey, legal survey, land survey, engineering, geodetic, land development, and urban survey.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: You must be able to work in a variety of environments, including outdoors and indoors, and must have excellent attention to detail.
  • Personal Suitability: You must have excellent interpersonal skills, be able to work effectively in a team, and have excellent written and oral communication skills.
