Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Geomatics Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for conducting field surveys, operating survey instruments and computer equipment, and assisting in the preparation of detailed drawings and reports.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct field surveys and operate survey instruments and computer equipment to measure distance, angles, elevations, and contours.
  • Assist in the preparation of detailed drawings, charts, and plans, as well as survey notes and reports.
  • Record measurements and other information obtained during field survey activities.
  • Supervise and co-ordinate field survey activities.
  • Operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
  • Assist in the calculation, analysis, and computation of measurements obtained during field surveys.
  • Keep records, measurements, and other survey information in systematic order.
  • Analyze latitude, longitude, and angles, and compute trigonometric and other calculations to plot features, contours, and areas to a specific scale.
  • Assist survey engineers or professional surveyors to develop methods and procedures for conducting field surveys.
Requirements
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and provide excellent customer service.
Work Environment

The successful candidate will work in a variety of outdoor and indoor environments, including offices and field locations. The ability to walk and work in a fast-paced environment is essential.

Computer and Technology Requirements
  • Proficiency in MicroStation.
  • Ability to operate GPS (Global Positioning System) and other navigation equipment.
