Mine Operations Manager

StevenDouglas is seeking a highly experienced Mine Superintendent to join our team in Labrador West or Wabush. This is a full-time position with a 5 and 2 schedule.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day activities of Mine Supervisors and manage key operational functions within the mine. They will be responsible for developing budgets, setting performance targets, and ensuring the execution of projects aligns with safety, quality, and cost objectives.
Key Responsibilities:- Oversee daily activities of Mine Supervisors and ensure compliance with collective agreement guidelines.
- Develop budgets and performance targets for the department and manage key operational functions.
- Direct and coordinate the execution of projects and operational plans to meet safety, quality, and cost objectives.
- Manage the selection of new equipment for the mine and continuously monitor key performance indicators to optimize efficiency, quality, and cost.
- Complete performance management tools and evaluations for direct reports and promote teamwork, high performance, and environmental stewardship throughout the operation.
- Communicate effectively to keep the team informed of issues or changes and perform additional duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in Open Pit Mining and strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to fostering a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment.
This role requires a strong understanding of mining operations and the ability to develop and implement effective strategies to improve efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.
