Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team at Realstar. As a key member of our property management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the upkeep and maintenance of our residential properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Property Maintenance
    • Conduct thorough inspections of all maintenance systems, including pumps, emergency generators, swimming pool, sprinklers, ventilation, boilers, and other equipment.
    • Ensure that all sewage, water, gas, and electrical systems are in good working order and respond to and address any maintenance, repairs, and inquiries.
    • Perform landscaping, mowing, and snow removal duties as required.
  • Cleaning and Sanitation
    • Ensure that all common areas, including lobbies, elevators, hallways, stairwells, windows, and amenity areas, are clean and well-maintained.
    • Conduct thorough cleaning of all appliances, floors, walls, windows, kitchen, washrooms, and balconies in vacant units.
  • Customer Service
    • Provide excellent customer service to residents, responding to their needs and concerns in a timely and professional manner.
    • Meet and interact with residents in a customer-friendly and professional manner.
  • Fire Safety and Emergency Procedures
    • Comply with regular fire safety and life safety standards, including keeping fire, risk check, maintenance, and preventative maintenance logs up to date.
    • Conduct fire drills and ensure that staff has a thorough understanding of emergency procedures, including fire, flood, and mold.
  • Teamwork and Communication
    • Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
    • Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and trades to ensure that all needs are met.
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Background in residential property management or related business experience.
    • Strong customer service and selling skills.
    • Excellent communication skills to deal with residents, prospects, colleagues, and trades.
    • Management skills to coach, train, and motivate staff and develop a team environment.
  • Skills and Abilities
    • Ability to perform minor repairs and aptitude for mechanical systems.
    • Demonstrated cleaning skills.
    • Ability to lift and push heavy objects, including garbage bins, furniture, and appliances, or perform snow removal duties, sometimes for extended periods of time.
