About the Role:
The Commercial Banking Director at National Bank of Canada is responsible for growing the portfolio of business clients assigned to them. This complex and varied role will make you the go-to resource person for your clients' financial projects.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and develop business opportunities in your market, increase your commercial client base, and establish business development strategies
- Help your clients achieve their business objectives by proposing financial strategies based on the most suitable combination of Bank products and services
- Meet clients' changing needs by adapting and optimizing financial products and advice/approaches
- Negotiate the terms and conditions of agreements with clients, while ensuring they meet risk management standards and profitability criteria
- Develop business development plans
- Support the Regional Vice-President in achieving objectives
- Collaborate with the Manager – Financing Solutions
- Participate in various networking activities (conferences, etc.)
- Work in synergy with all the Bank's departments
About Your Team:
You will join a team of professionals in the Commercial Banking and Private Banking sector, supporting business clients. You will be surrounded by an ecosystem of specialists, like financing solutions managers, who will help you offer the solutions that best suit your clients' needs.
Reporting to Associate Vice-President, you will manage a portfolio of clients covering a specific region.
Our training programs use on-the-job learning to help you master your role. You can access personalized training content on topics such as banking solutions and the advisory approach to support your ongoing learning. You'll also have access to colleagues with a wide range of expertise, experience, and backgrounds to enrich all aspects of your development.
Requirements:
- At least 5 to 9 years' experience in sales and business development within the financial industry:
- University certificate and 9 years' experience
- Bachelor's degree and 7 years' experience
- Master's degree and 5 years' experience
- Experience in sales and business development
- Experience in financial statement analysis
- Experience in commercial credit
- A network of professional contacts among local medium-sized enterprises and large companies, an asset
