Key Responsibilities:

The Finance Controller is a senior leadership position responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all financial-related activities of the association. This includes direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, strategic planning, internal audit, compliance, equity management, deal analysis, and financing.

  • Direct and oversee all aspects of the Finance and Accounting functions of the association.
  • Provide leadership to the accounting and administrative team, including talent management, performance management, and training.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting, budgets, and reporting.
  • Ensure the credibility of the association's finances by providing timely and accurate financial reports, analysis of budgets, financial trends, and forecasts.
  • Ensure effective internal controls are in place and compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, provincial, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting.
  • Participate in the development and continuous evaluation of short and long-term strategic financial objectives.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with senior leaders to identify their unit needs and seek business solutions.
  • Provide recommendations to enhance financial performance and business opportunities.

About the Role:

This is a key position that requires a recognized leader with a degree or diploma in Business, Finance, or Accounting, and a professional accounting designation. The ideal candidate will have 5-8 years of progressive experience in accounting/finance, with at least 4 years at a leadership level.
