Unlock Your Potential as a Transportation Engineer

R.V. Anderson Associates Limited is seeking a highly skilled Transportation Engineer to join our team in Toronto and London offices. As a key member of our Transportation team, you will be responsible for designing and managing transportation infrastructure projects, including road reconstruction and infrastructure renewal.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and coordinate preliminary and final designs for transportation infrastructure projects.
  • Provide project engineering and technical expertise, modeling, analysis, and design services.
  • Participate in studies, assessments, cost estimates, specifications, contract documents, tendering, and contract administration.
  • Coordinate with utilities and prepare approvals for projects.
  • Prepare and edit design drawings using AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation/InRoads.
  • Support project managers in technical analysis, client liaison, project management, and proposal preparation.
  • Work effectively with consultants, contractors, developers, elected officials, and other internal and external clients and stakeholders.
  • Mentor and coach project teams.

Requirements:

  • University degree in Civil Engineering with experience in municipal infrastructure and transportation designing.
  • Active P. Eng. designation with the ability to practice in the province of Ontario.
  • Proficient in engineering principles, design analysis, and problem-solving.
  • 5-10 years' progressive experience in conceptual, preliminary, and detailed design of roadway and servicing.
  • Experience in third-party utility relocation and coordination is an asset.
  • Proficient skill in the use of current design tools such as AutoCAD/Civil3D, MicroStation, and InRoads.
  • Experience in design engineering for various municipal and provincial agencies.
  • Practical knowledge of construction sequencing and constructability.
  • Aptitude for meeting timelines and budgets.
  • Experience in proposal writing, client development, and other skills appropriate to consulting is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Tools such as Excel, Word, and MS Project.
  • Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.
