Job Summary
Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Physiatrist to join our team as a Specialist in Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation. The successful candidate will work in collaboration with our multidisciplinary team to provide consultative assessment and treatment of patients with physical, mental, and occupational rehabilitation needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation consultative assessment of patients in the high-intensity rehabilitation program and on an as-needed basis on other programs at Mackenzie Health Richmond Hill Hospital.
- Address musculoskeletal issues such as pain, deformity, immobility, and other physiatric barriers limiting progression within a rehabilitation program or other disposition.
- Work closely with other Mackenzie Health Physiatrist(s) to negotiate cross-hospital consultation or coverage if/when necessary.
- Collaborate with community partners to support hospital pathways for patients in other physiatric populations (amputee, stroke, SCI).
- Participate in meetings and committees, as required.
- Perform duties and responsibilities as agreed upon by the Division Head.
- Perform duties and responsibilities outlined in the Hospital By-laws, department, and division rules, and applicable policies.
Requirements
- Medical degree approved by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Ontario (CPSO) required.
- Postdoctoral training in physical medicine and rehabilitation residency required.
- Canadian Medical Protection Association (CMPA) in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience running MSK rehab unit, managing team, teaching, interest in quality improvement, and passion to build programs in collaboration with community partners and specialty academic sites.
