About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Assistant to join our team at Kerry's Place Autism Services. As a key member of our team, you will provide essential support and services to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) to maximize their health, safety, and personal fulfillment.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide coaching and support in social skills, communication, and leisure activities.
  • Identify and address barriers impacting quality of life, ensuring Personal Outcomes are met for each individual.
  • Administer medication as per procedure.
  • Follow Behavioral and Crisis Protocols as documented.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with families, supports, and community members.
Requirements:
  • Completion of a Human Services Diploma or equivalent, or a Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized institution.
  • 1 year of related experience, preferably supporting individuals with ASD.
  • Solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to physically support adults with ASD.
  • Ability to complete Non-Violent Crisis Intervention (NVCI) certification and perform required physical techniques.
  • Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle.
