Trotter & Morton Group of Companies is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Project Manager to join our team. As a key member of our construction management team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our mechanical projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Manage and supervise project teams, including superintendents and foremen, to ensure projects are completed efficiently and effectively.
- Initiate, review, and oversee project administration and documentation to avoid claims and protect the company's interests.
- Ensure contract agreements are secured, reviewed, processed, and executed in a timely manner.
- Review, finalize, and distribute project budgets, making updates and revisions as necessary.
- Conduct pre-construction turnover meetings for all assigned projects.
- Ensure all required permits and licenses are obtained and posted.
- Coordinate project schedules, procurement of materials and equipment, and subcontractor management.
- Develop, submit, and obtain approval of billing schedules of values.
- Prepare and submit invoices, collect payments, and manage holdback receivables.
- Price, negotiate, and process change conditions and change work orders.
- Oversee tools and equipment rentals, ensuring unused tools are returned immediately.
- Manage the overall financial performance of assigned projects, including cost control, management, and forecasting.
- Manage subcontractors and suppliers, reviewing and approving invoices.
- Assist the General Manager in addressing project disputes and claims.
- Closely out projects in an organized and timely manner.
- Professional, approachable, and customer-service oriented.
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude.
- Attention to detail and high degree of accuracy.
- Good mathematical and analytical skills.
- Ability to prioritize workloads and utilize planning and time management skills to adhere to strict deadlines.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to lead and foster a positive work environment.
- Ability to accurately estimate work.
- Ability to understand and communicate advanced construction concepts.
- Advanced computer skills (MS Office, Project, and Procore).
- Completion of an Engineering Degree or CET.
- Journeyperson ticket.
- Minimum of 4 years of construction management experience.
