We are seeking an experienced Senior Policy Analyst to join our team. The ideal candidate will have:

  • A graduate degree in economics or a field with a strong economics component, along with 3-5 years of applied experience.
  • A solid empirical research grounding in Canadian macroeconomic and financial policy topics.
  • An active interest in Canadian policy issues, with some background in Canadian history, politics, public finance, and governance.
  • Superior ability to communicate in English, orally and in writing, to specialist and non-specialist audiences. Knowledge of French would be an asset.
  • A firm grasp of Stata and/or other statistical software.

As a Senior Policy Analyst, your duties will include:

Key Responsibilities
  • Authoring and coordinating key Institute projects, which you will identify and bring to the research team and Project Approval Committee for approval.
  • Supporting key Centre projects through research and drafting of reports, in collaboration with other Institute research staff, and within the timelines identified for the projects.
  • Leading the Institute's Financial Services Research Initiative (FSRI), ensuring output targets are met, maintaining strong relationships with FSRI co-chairs, and being responsive to requests from FSRI members.
  • Contributing to the Institute's publication process by commenting on papers and paper prospectuses that circulate internally.
