We are seeking a highly skilled Internal Audit Specialist to join our team at Westlake Chemical. As an Internal Audit Specialist, you will play a crucial role in enhancing the company's risk management and governance processes.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading internal audit assignments and projects, including Sarbanes-Oxley controls testing, internal audit projects, vendor audits, internal investigations, process reviews, and other projects. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of internal audit scope and objectives, as well as experience with governance activities and control frameworks such as COSO.

  • Lead internal audit assignments and projects, ensuring timely completion and quality delivery.
  • Design and perform audit procedures to achieve project objectives, document results, and prepare draft reports.
  • Evaluate the design of controls and test their operating effectiveness during internal audit, compliance, and Sarbanes-Oxley projects.
  • Analyze financial statement data, identify key business risks, and develop a risk-based project plan.
  • Communicate findings clearly and effectively to stakeholders, including management, the Board of Directors, and process owners.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business field.
  • A minimum of 4 years' experience in internal audit or 3 years in public accounting or consulting.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Knowledge of enabling technologies and digital transformation initiatives, including agile methodology, process automation, data analytics, and artificial intelligence.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction and guidance, while effectively coordinating project activities with other team members.
